You made us stand on "Y"
But if I choose to lie on "X"
I can look up and see you through the fence
Of these clouds ever so dense
Maybe it is a wise choice
So you could stand far and stare
At the different roles played by us
so you can laugh and say, "Why so much fuss?"
As a writer of this play
You cant just pretend to be clay
Uncover the wraps and show us your face
Are you scared that you may not be the pretentious ace?
Billions scream and pray
If you are true, why stay away?
Nature is GOD, they say
I will believe those ignorant
Some other day but not today

If looks could kill
In your eyes, I take a dive
all the time I feel alive
seems like I dance the jive
without you, I wont survive
If only you could sense
my emotions, ever so dense
One look and I condense
my heart burns like incense
In my sweetest dream
you shine like a beam
I ask you the same, with a gleam
You dont seem to have the same theme
Why are you so cross?
Is it the gloss?
Upon arrival of night
Doesn't the beautiful day stay at bay?
Between us this anonymous wall
will stand tall and break it all
At the end of it,
If your desire is not me
I would set myself free
all the time I feel alive
seems like I dance the jive
without you, I wont survive
If only you could sense
my emotions, ever so dense
One look and I condense
my heart burns like incense
In my sweetest dream
you shine like a beam
I ask you the same, with a gleam

My Love Song
Another day, another year
full of cheer, with you my dear
a life full of flow and ebb
we together weave the magical web
If life is a twisty road
every corner with problems sowed
you sing to me the best of ode
and take me with you to our beautiful abode
If almighty grants me a wish
just like a fish that desires water
and the Earth that desires the Sun
I will call out to you my hun
With you by my side
From the World, I need not hide
In you I confide,
In my thoughts you glide
I shall live every day
as if it were my last
One day I shall breathe last
I pray, in your arms crossed
full of cheer, with you my dear
a life full of flow and ebb
we together weave the magical web
If life is a twisty road
every corner with problems sowed
you sing to me the best of ode
and take me with you to our beautiful abode
If almighty grants me a wish
just like a fish that desires water
and the Earth that desires the Sun
I will call out to you my hun
With you by my side
From the World, I need not hide
In you I confide,
In my thoughts you glide
I shall live every day
as if it were my last
One day I shall breathe last
I pray, in your arms crossed

Invictus
A poem written by William Ernest Henley that inspired Nelson Mandela when he was behind the bars.
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

Super tax. Not so "super" after all!
Something of interest. Refer to the website below.
http://keepminingstrong.com.au/default.aspx
The Australian Govt in the last budget (about a month or so back) proposed a new "Super profit tax" system for the mines in Australia. The name for the additional tax can be misleading. Effectively, it means that any mine making a profit of more than 6% will be subjected to a heavier tax rate(higher than other industries). This has been proposed to be implemented from 2012 onwards. The obvious implications of this tax will be the lack of future investments in the mining industry in Australia and some of the giants like bhpbilliton and Rio Tinto pulling out of the Aussie market and going elsewhere. A very successful industry that can potentially be squashed by the govt's new proposal.
To oppose this move, the opposition party and the public have got together and have designed the website mentioned above. I just wanted to share this with you all to show you what true democracy means. The main difference between Australia and India in the way the affairs are handled is that the common man here is well aware of his/her rights and they fight for it in the right manner. Once people from different spheres of life pass their comments on the web site's "comments" section, that will then be forwarded to the house of representatives.
The public opinion will be given the appropriate importance and who knows they may even overturn this proposal i.e. a true reflection of democracy "Of the people, by the people and for the people"!

Adios Amigo
I don’t know what is harder
to bid you goodbye or to die?
I still chose the former
as I had to live on for you my lover
When I left you yesterday
felt as if my life had gone astray
as all good things come to an end
so did our meeting, my lady friend
Today I was waiting for my phone to ring
the call never came
My heart felt a bee sting
I wondered what luck this day will bring?
I know we are miles apart
I promise you are always in my heart
You and me make this love of ours
the most beautiful form of art
I promise, there will be a day soon
when God will give us the boon
you have been my obsession so far
soon you will become my most cherished possession
to bid you goodbye or to die?
I still chose the former
as I had to live on for you my lover
When I left you yesterday
felt as if my life had gone astray
as all good things come to an end
so did our meeting, my lady friend
