- Life is difficult for the umpires on the field (no doubt!) but hang on........... how many times Mr Bucknor got it wrong? Not to mention the blunder Mark Benson made by asking Ponting if Ganguly was out or not??!!That is absurdity to say the least.Maybe he thought that Ponting was the acting 3rd umpire for some reason!
- The whole of Sydney heard the nick that Symonds got when he was on 30 in the first innings except Bucknor...............Maybe he chose to go completely deaf for that one ball!
- Two days later Anil Kumble missed a hat-trick when Bucknor judged a wrong'un to be going over the stumps when Symonds pushed forward. He went on to score another 61.
- Rahul was batting well in the second innings .................Why was Dravid given out when the ball was no way near his bat?Oh I know the answer..............Bucknor chose to go blind for that ball!!
- Also, I fail to understand the ban on Bhajji. Firstly, we were doing extremely well and were on top of the game when this incident happened and hence there was no reason for bhajji to call Symonds names at that time! Secondly, everyone knows how unsporting this current Aussie team is(especially when they are on the losing side) and hence there was every reason that maybe someone had provoked bhajji first from the opponents side (even if he has said it!) . Last but not the least, there was no evidence apart from Ponting's claims that Bhajji had used the word "Monkey" against Symonds. Now are you telling me that tomorrow if any of the Indian players complain against the Aussies, Ponting's men will get a ban??C'mon...............in your dreams maybe!
I am running out of space here and hence will cut a long story short. Indians put up a great fight till the end and the Aussies too played a great game of cricket. Except for the poor umpiring decisions this could have been such a great game of cricket. All in all, this test match will certainly be remembered for a long long time sadly for more wrong reasons than right!

"All players are very good actors" was my first lesson before I went into officiating my first match as an umpire. Its bloody common sense that you consult your partner or the third umpire before making a decision that you're unsure of, and that too a crucial one in this case. But Benson could have been right.... he would have thought that instead of asking "blind and deaf" Bucknor, it would have been better asking anyone else. Hee hee.... I am damn furious on the outcome of the test match. All credit to Indians who played like champions.
Buknor has always had a grudge against the Indians since stone age and against dravid especially !! But i never guessed that 'sob' would give in on that final day !
Plus kumble rightly said that only one team played with true sportsmanship.
forgot 2 add.....yuvi should be dropped in the next test if the indian team decide to continue with their schedule down under...they can get in pathan instead...nd karthik in place of jaffer.
btw did u catch a glimpse of Ms.Padukone at the stands.. who expected more of yuvi on the filed wid the bat.... But destiny had other plans for sure !!!
sadness! the decisions were way beyond blah!
