9 years to this date.........

Exactly 9 years back was the shocking demise of our dear Balan thata. Well technically it was yesterday but we(amma, daddy n self) came to know about it only on the 17th of May 1999. I still remember that day entering vadavalli knowing very well that the inevitable had occured but still praying and hoping that it was all false! So much has changed in all our lives in the last 9 years.

Personally, I have finished my engineering, masters and even have 3 years of work experience now! I am sure for each one of you it has also been a heck of a journey. I guess what I am tying to get at is the fact that even after such a long time that day is still etched in my memory and probably will be fresh in my memory till I breathe last.

People always say "Look for a positive in a negative aspect" and here I am trying to do the same. Just close your eyes and think back about your respective lives. How many days of substance have you really lived? How many days in your lives do you actually remember?Maybe your first date, your wedding day, the day when your child started to walk....... In a life span of 65 years (average), how many days have actually made an impact in your life that are worth remembering? Maybe 65 days? Just a day per year! What happened to all the remaining 23,660 days? Some food for thought I am sure. Guys, lets just start LIVING! Forget the differences of opinion, forget the petty issues, forget small issues in life that we tend to blow up for no reason. Lets start to share, love and even adore one another because in the final analysis you will find that "It was never between you and others. It was always between you and God"!

Its a pity that we give so much importance to days that have not been great for us, people who have perhaps disappointed us at some point, the failures.. etc..

like you said, i'd rather live every moment and make each day count by making it meaningful..

interesting that this post was inspired by bluffmaster :)
