Indian Abeyance

Recently, the newspapers have been full of updates regarding a new adversary for our beloved country, India. They call this new man on the block, "China".I deliberately use the term "Man" because by no means China can be called a "Kid".

Two recent reports caught my attention - One is the fact that a new road project that was being built by the Indian Govt in the village of Demchok(the last inhabited area on the Line of Actual Control) has been called off because the Chinese army opposed it. In fact, the Chinese have built a similar road on their side of the LAC! Secondly, the Chinese are building an air strip on the
LAC(line of actual control), which the Indian govt surprisingly thinks is no threat to us!!Not to mention the Chinese influence on the state of Arunachal Pradesh;many experts believe that at this rate, in about 20 years time India will lose its eastern wing.

Over the years, we have seen a pretty dormant side of India or should I emphasise and say Indian politicians with respect to the issues with Pakistan. If you take the 26/11 incident in Bombay as an example, Kasab is still enjoying a nice lifestyle and if reports are to be believed the entire investigation has caused the nation Rs 31 crores so far!

My point - Within the country, stuff that makes noise are issues like what "Saamna" has to say about Tendulkar or what "Saifeena" are up to next? Of course this kind of news is required as this is "bread and butter" stuff for any tabloid however,we are trying to hide behind these mindless & less important issues. We have a geopolitical war in the making with our neighbours and here we are assuming no responsibility;convincing ourselves that these threats are not real.

India, it's time to wake up otherwise in no time we will be gobbled up.

Concerned,

Ajay
