iHola amigos........
This is what I have been thinking about off late. Picture this...........You are sitting on a chair, thousands of people can hear/watch you across the World, you have a lie detector attached to you & the person in front of you can ask you any question he likes about your personal OR professional life. You know that if you lie, you will pretty much make a fool of yourself (as the lie detector is assumed to be fool proof!). What would you do? Will you be ready for this challenge? Will you be scared? Sorry did you just say that you already have sweaty palms?
Scenario 1 : The above was the concept of a show called "The moment of truth". Brilliant concept for the idiot box to get your TRP ratings high. Of course, the consequence of airing this show has been devastating to say the least. People had their own little secrets, some harmless, but some when admitted left a real sour taste in their mouth. People got easily lured by the money offered to take part in the show and decided to risk it all without thinking twice. Some got asked real personal questions about their $%x life etc & the consequesnce of it......................broken relationships, divorce and heart break. The show has now been called off.
Scenario 2 : The same concept was adopted into an Indian version that all of you, I am sure, are familiar with - Such ka Saamna(Facing the truth). Guess who feel for the trap this time?Yes our very dear Vinodh Kambli who went to the extent of saying that his dearest friend from childhood(Sachin, of course!) was not supportive of him during his tough times. Many say that this was just a publicity stunt. Mabe it was, but was it worth it?
Scenario 3: Welcome to the land of Oz! The great "Kyle & Jackie O" show on todayFM! Smash hit on FM, has had the highest TRP ratings on Aussie radio forever. They got a mother and her daughter on air to do a lie detector test a few days back. The result - Daughter admits to being raped when she was 12, admits to have consumed drugs since the age of 13 and having bunked school since she was 10! The show was called off with immediate effect.
Hmmm, definitely makes one think. All the above would have never come to light but for the lie detector test.
One can conclude that maybe some of us have a tendency to lead a life where we probably do not want to be sharing everything with everyone.
Comes down to what is it that you are hiding and more importantly from whom?
Ask yourself the question today, if put to test, WILL YOU PASS?
